Reconsidering the Traditional Model

The traditional model of one teacher-one classroom is being reconsidered in some districts trying to leverage the impact of effective teachers and create more career opportunity. Traditionally, the only way teachers could advance their careers was to leave the classroom and move into administrative roles. And those who get tapped to move into administrative roles are typically the most talented teachers. Big Spring ISD is redesigning teacher jobs to extend the reach of talented teachers to more students for more pay.
